About PAADC
The Professor Ayodele Awojobi Design Competition (PAADC) is Nigeria's largest student-led undergraduate STEM innovation competition, created in 2016 by the University of Lagos Engineering Society. Named in immortal tribute to the late academic prodigy and mechanical engineering legend Professor Ayodele Awojobi, PAADC challenges tertiary students across Nigeria to design indigenous engineering solutions to Africa's most pressing socioeconomic problems.
Each year, PAADC attracts hundreds of submissions from over 100 universities and polytechnics across Nigeria, spanning categories in health tech, agritech, clean energy, and smart automation. Finalists participate in an intensive design-to-market incubation camp, culminating in a grand pitch finale where winners are awarded millions of Naira in equity-free development grants and mentorship from top venture capitalists and industrial leaders.
